TOPSUMBAR – Deputy Mayor, Drs. Asrul expects the target of prevalence of stunt numbers that has been set at 14%, can be reached in 2024.
The achievement, said Wawako Asrul, should be with concrete steps and efforts as well as targeted programs designed by all stakeholders to accelerate the decrease of stunting.
“The stunting number in 2022 is based on e-PPGBM data in Padang Panjang City of 14,74% or 491 people out of 3,333 toddlers. Our target for 2024 is that this number can be reduced by 14%,” he said while opening the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Acceleration of Decline Stunting at Mifan Auditorium, Tuesday (9/5).
Asrul said, to achieve the target of stunting reduction must be with effort and strategy. Among them improving the quality of preparation of family life, ensuring nutritional fulfillment, parenting patterns and improving access to health services and drinking water and sanitation.
“It takes extraordinary work to make a performance leap. I hope the Basunting (Stunting-red Foster Parents) program that has been created, can be implemented synergically and accurately,” he said.
Asrul hopes that the ranks of OPD and related stakeholders can make an active contribution in this FGD. As well as provide more complete data so that the root of the stunting problem in Padang Panjang City can be identified.
“Hopefully the active role and synergy of all parties in stunting handling, able to move and improve the effectiveness of its implementation. So that the set targets can be achieved to the maximum,” he hopes.
Meanwhile, Head of Social Service PPKBPPA, Drs. Osman Bin Nur, M. Si said, this forum is called to accelerate the decrease of the stunts of Kota Padang Panjang.
“In order for the acceleration to continue to work well, it is necessary to have qualified and integrated planning,” he said.
